This fabulous pattern that I'd been fascinated on, the super easy wrap-blouse thingy? Well....
I found it! It will be in my hot little hands later this week. Does that mean I will be making it anytime soon?
Probably not.
I still have not made my family's already IOU Christmas gifts... SCARVES! The first day of Spring is right around the corner! Shame, shame, shame.
And of course then there's this list of stuff too, remember?
But at least I'll have the pattern, right? Right?

Letter from New Orleans,
New Orleans
Two words that used to inspire smiles and shared memories from strangers. They had either had a great time in this town or planned to have one someday. Now say you're from NO and people look at you with pity and fear (you must be nuts if you live there.) Half the planet thinks that we're fine and apparently, the other half thinks we're still underwater. If confusion were a place, it would be here. That being said, I would like to set the record straight (granted, it will be as straight as the

Breathing a Little Easier
Today, I found out that I was accepted for Anthem's cheaper health insurance plan, Essential KeyCare.
Instead of paying that $389 premium, I will now be paying $228, a savings of $161 dollars a month!
Now in order to get this, I did have to raise my deductible from my usual $500 to $1,500. So my goal is stay healthy.
Duh? When wasn't that the goal?

More birthday fun for me
I just ordered myself two birthday gifts paid for with my Christmas/birthday money!*
These shoes, the Allie, that I've mentioned before from Miz Mooz in brown. It might still be a dark color, but it IS a move away from black. In fact, I wanted the red ones but they are out of stock right now. I'll try to pick them up later this year, if I'm lucky.
I also bought myself this coral necklace from BeadFantasy on Etsy. Jewelry is a great way to bring color into your wardrobe when you already have most of your clothing basics but they happen to all be black. I've had pictures of similar chunky beaded necklaces in my scrapbook files for years. Check out the beaded necklaces being sold by Anthropologie, Banana Republic, and J. Crew. Of course, the one I really want is way over my budget but aren't they pretty?
Coral Cabochon Bib necklace, $58
Gumball Machine necklace, $128
Bubble necklace, $150 *When you go back to college at my age and spend a year unemployed, your father feels generous, so I got money instead of gifts for both occasions!

Happy Birthday to Me!

My Birthday was this past Sunday.*
This is some of what I received: Two beautifully wrapped boxes and two boxes of lavender olive oil soap. The soap was wrapped beautifully too, but I forgot to take a before picture.
From who: My friend Linda in New Orleans.
What do you think about this gift wrapping? I love it! It's frayed yarn, cut felt, and a huge 1-inch thick white button. The cards say Make A Wish.

Yellow leaf dish with matching lid, just straight up gorgeous!
Delicate little tea bowls in the perfect color for my Celestial Seasonings' Decaf Mint Green tea.
Thank you, Linda!
*Yes, it was the Super Bowl too
