Cast: Carey Mulligan, Emma Thompson, Alfred Molina, Olivia Williams, and yum yum actor Peter Sarsgaard!
Time period: Early 1960s in England and France.
Nick Hornby adapted the screenplay from journalist Lynn Barber's memoir. Hornby is also an executive producer so I have a strong feeling that the soundtrack will be excellent like in all his other films.
Costumes (which look lovely) are by Odile Dicks-Mireaux; who not only did the costumes for the BlackAdder series (!!) but also for Gormenghast.
Check out the website as it's very clever and has a huge gallery of stills from the film. The section transitions are also clever; line animations of different symbols from a young girl's schooling and life; pencils, books, bar graphs, chemistry class, and record players.
Can't wait to check this one out! Opening in NY and LA on October 9, 2009.
I'm excited for this film as well! Such pretty costumes worn by some of my favorite actors (yum yum, indeed!). :D
ReplyDeleteOoh this looks gorgeous. Also somebody pointed out to me that Carey Mulligan is the lead in one of my favorite episodes of one of my favorite tv shows EVER so I am totally rooting for her.
