3.1 Phillip Lim skirt
My version
Finally, it is done! Oh, and the hem is actually straight, it is just bunched up because of the sash, which I made far too long. It's over 100 inches long, so in this picture it is doubled and then tied, cinching and interfering with the skirt's elastic waistband. I still have to figure how to get it to look like the one in the inspiration picture. Whereas on that skirt the sash seems to create a small waist mine makes my waist seem thick and boxy. Which of course, is probably because there are so many layers of fabric encircling it.

I love that look!!!!
That is gorgeous- you should be so proud of that skirt. If the sash was shorter, I think that would solve all your issues with it. Love!
Brilliant! I agree -- a single-tie sash would help show how teeny your waist is. A double tie might not feel as thick, but combined with the elastic waistband I could see how it adds unwanted bulk.
So worth the wait! :) I hope you get to wear it a lot. Seems pretty versatile.
Wow, I thought you found the skirt and was showing us a fitting room shot. It looks great.
I really really like that. Do you mind if I take some inspiration from you? I have been looking for some summer skirt ideas.
Cute, looks like the real thing! (bookmarking to knock off your knock off)
So cute! I want to make one now too! I think you're right about the double fabric at the waist. Also, it looks like the tie on the original might be a little thinner, but I can't tell for sure. Even if you leave it as it is, I think it looks awesome on you. Well done.
Your version is amazing. Good job!
