No, No, No!

I'm not sure if I mentioned it but I'm taking one class this semester. (It's going pretty well and there's only one month left. YAY!)

Well, because this class occurs at night, the students are of various ages. So there is this guy that usually sits in the aisle next to mine and last week I noticed something about him. Well, actually I couldn't possibly not notice this:

YES!

He was wearing those, in a jungle green "neutral" color, like that would help them blend in??!? I refuse to even provide a link for those shoes because, well, ugghhh.....

For the rest of the night, I had to avoid letting my eyes migrate over to that side. I consider those a fashion FAIL. What do YOU think?

I haaate those shoes. A bunch of my husband's friends wear them, and I just can't handle looking at them at all... they freak me out. I don't care how comfortable they are, they are a no!

I saw someone walking down a city street wearing those a few months ago, and I freaked out! So majorly off-putting! My brother was walking beside me but didn't see them, so when we got back to his office I showed him a picture on the computer. He loved them, said he wanted a pair...So maybe it's a guy thing?

EEEP! I've never seen these before. They are so creepy! I bet it was so hard to concentrate after seeing his shoes :-)

I know someone who wears them and they've apparently solved her chronic foot pain. So at least, unlike Crocs etc. they do seem to serve a purpose. But still, no thanks!

My first thought was Comme des Garcons A/W 2009, where the outline of the toes are painted on the outside of the shoe. I'm not a fan of that shoe and I'm not really a fan of this one. However, I still find these more bearable than my archnemesis: Crocs.

They look delightfully comfortable. OK, so I love Crocs (and not all of them look like the original clogs). And Birkenstocks. And actually anything that doesn't cramp my toes...
Well, if you ask me a smile on your face is much better looking than any shoes could possibly be. And I assure you when your feet hurt it does show on your face..

ROTFLOL!! I had a pair of house shoes when I was about 12 that looked like those. I thought they were the grooviest things ever!!!

I personally am another resounding 'Nooo!!' but I must confess that I live with a pair courtesy of my partner (damn you, rei dividend). Of course I try to counteract their evil in my house in my own way: with thirty pairs of improbably girly and fantastically beautiful heels, platforms, wedges, and the occasional flat.

I have never seen such a thing! The bottom looks like a gorilla foot. I think I would be freaked out if I saw them on someone. It's not that I think they're ugly, it's like a whole other dimension of total weirdness from ugly.

Horrifying.I haven't had the misfortune to see anyone sporting them IRL, thankfully. Sorry you did.

I don't like the way they look. I've heard they are supposed to be really healthy for your feet though. I saw one guy at VCU wearing them and I had to do a double-take at first because I thought he was barefoot walking around the city. Eww.

Oh, Lsa, fashion fail, comfort SUCCESS! I wear these for kayaking, and there is nothing better for walking over a stony beach. They feel just like going barefoot, but there's no pain from sharp shells, twigs, rocks, etc. Bliss!

Of course, they don't look all that weird with my kayaking gear. Mr. Noile got his Five Fingers a little while ago, and he wears them in everyday life, too. Of course, no one would ever mistake him for someone who cared about clothes, much less fashion . . .

His are a denimy blue/gray, which are a lot less obvious. It's amazing how many people don't even notice them when they're not bright orange.

Hmm . . . just read Allison's note. Funny, we got Mr. Noile's with our REI dividend, too. Dangerous, that.
